I will be looking for a top grade piece of mammoth/walrus ivory for a knife a European knifemaker is going to make me. Can anyone recommend one or more sellers that will be attending Blade?

Thanks,

Marcel

Alpaha Knife Supply/Dan Westlind, and Don Feilds Ivory. They always have some great stuff. There are a couple more but I just can't think of their names. Someone will though. Look forward to meeting you Marcel.

David Mirabile often has good stuff - he comes straight from Alaska. I would get in touch with him now if I were you.

Don't forget to check out Chuck Bybee's booth Alpha Knife Supply. He always has nice stuff.

Best to get your handle materials early during the show.

I try to check out all the handle material vendors. Never know where that one most special piece may be.
However, finding the prettiest piece doesn't always guarantee the best piece.

Tail Don Hanson 24/7.

I suspect he will be in total disguise when he does his shopping rounds. :cool:Furthermore I believe he buys his ivory in ways that are beyond our means as mere mortals;):D:thumbup:

Marcel,
Sorry I missed your call yesterday..... Due to circumstances beyond
my control,I will not be in Atlanta this year. I have been too busy getting my house ready to put on the market due to recent divorce.... The house is being shown as I write this letter. Hopefully it will go quick....(then I'm going to get some MORE ivory) Although I do have some pretty sweet ivory now. Many people have tried, and failed to get any from me... sorry .
I wish you the best in your search.
yeah, follow Don!

David, sorry to missed you too. Good luck on selling the house.

Although I do have some pretty sweet ivory now. Many people have tried, and failed to get any from me... sorry .

Not even if I say "pretty please"?;):D
