So mamoth ivory. Now that a dinosoar, right ? Is this just another name for elephant ivory (I've got a real problem with poachers) or am I compleatly off the mark.

Please explain

Many thanks, alway willing to be educated :)

"Woolly mammoths roamed the northern plains for most of the last 2 million years or so, until just 10,000 years ago. A subject of controversy for many years, it is generally agreed now that mammoths died out from a combination of changing climate, hunting pressure from humans, and probably disease."

It's clearly rare, have CRK dug one up from somewhere or can it be sourced ?

thanks

Bob

I guess it's pretty easily available ( for knifemakers ).
I've read stories about outdoor/adventure people traveling in the north of Russia that there was too much (mammoth ivory bone) lying around to carry...

Yeah at the knife shows they have plenty of mammoth ivory for sale to knife makers. Since mammoths are extinct, the ivory ban doesn't apply. The elephant ivory ban is rather sad. There are elephant preserves that have accumulated lots of ivory from elephants that die naturally. Because of the ban they can't sell the ivory. It's too bad because they need the money to help feed the other elephants.
