...Unfortunately, it only works once.

Manila - A 39-year-old man was beheaded by his drinking buddy in the Philippines over an argument on the right amount of liquor to be poured in a glass they were sharing, a police officer said on Tuesday.

Chief Inspector Noel Raquero said Pascual Fernandez died instantly after he was hacked to death late on Sunday by Danilo Yuson in Antipolo City, just east of Manila.

Raquero said Yuson and Fernandez, together with three other friends, were on a drinking spree when the incident occurred.

"After downing several bottles of gin, Yuson accused the victim of pouring less gin in the glass they were all sharing when it was his turn to drink," he said. "A heated argument ensued but their friends pacified them."

Raquero said Yuson quickly left his buddies but returned after a few minutes carrying a "jungle bolo" weapon. The suspect, who was later arrested by police and charged with homicide, hacked the victim without warning. - Sapa-DPA

Is there a site somewhere that discusses the swords used in executions today?

I'd be interested in seeing what kind of edge geometry the swords have, and how they perform on human flesh and bone, although I'd think that just about any large blade would be able to perform a beheading.
