I knew I should have picked up 4-5 of those SAR5s when I proxied for some other fellas during the ganzaa. I can't believe those things are already getting a 100$ markup on the exchange. I coulda made enough money to buy a couple of SFNO's...:thumbup:

Oh well, no regrets, right? BS...I regret not grabbin' a boatload of those things.:grumpy:

Did all the SAR guys end up getting the knife Jerry designed for them?

BTW...I do hafta say that one of the fella's for whom I proxied on the ETSganzaa did indeed offer to sell me an extra SAR at cost, and I slept on it. Good of the gentleman. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Not sure. I think Dunner or River 8 were waiting for the SAR 4, but I may be mistaken. They're really a great designed knife for what they were intended to do. I'm surprised the Boss didn't like them, but his loss, our gain! :D

Yeah man, I am surprised the markup is so great... and they are selling, I thought everyone would get what they wanted from Jerry.
 
The ONLY reason I didn't buy a few was because I had read a few posts about a "market correction" the day before. I also skipped out on the ETS SJtacs as well, even though I proxied for some other fellas. Oh well, guess I shouldn't believe the "market correction" hype. :confused:

I'm still waiting to hear if I got lucky. I handled one at Eugene but have not completley made up my mind if I like it or not. I'm waiting to see what the SAR4 looks like also. If I did luck out and like the SAR4 better I'll be letting the SAR5 go but at a resonable price. Of course Skunk had to go and post pics of new ADs so now I'm really torn. I have one AD already but these are thin and have black handles and are my favorite EDC design. Not enough money to go around. Arrugh.

See, that there really bugs me. The knife is called the NWSAR5. Jerry didn't evenm like the knife. He only put it out there because it mattered the SAR guys up there. The fact that none of them got their bldes sucks. I had hoped that those with extras would have sold them at or near cost to the SAR guys who couldn't be there.

Instead it seems like some of us saw a chance to buy good INFI cheap, and took advantage knowing the markup could be nice.

It would be very nice if someone created a NWSAR5 wtb list, and all the SAR guys put their names on it. If anyone is feeling charitable, they could sell one of their extras at cost or a couple dollars over to a guy who really was hoping to use this knife for its intended purpose.

I sent a message to a guy I know on your behalf. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't...but if it does, you may be able to get your SAR without being gouged. We'll see, brother.

Believe me it'll be back in some type on incarnation! I've been hanging here for 6yrs and I've seen it happen with almost every model!
