Man kills attacking cougar with folding Buck knife.

Currently watching "Human Prey II" on Discovery. A man was attacked and scalped by a cougar and almost killed.

He pulled out what looked to me to be a Buck 110 and killed the cougar. I now have a new respect for the ability of a knife as a defensive tool in the woods.

The man was by no means in good shape.

If anybody else checks it out let me know if it was a buck 110.

If I posted this in the wrong area I am sorry!

I saw the same show....it sure looked like a 110 to me....very interesting as I hadn't heard or read the definitive story of what transpired.....I believe the attack was in 2005.

I seen a picture of the knife used somewhere on the internet and it looked more like a schrade LB7.

I looked on Discovery's website and could find nothing on the subject other than listing times. It does not look like it will be on again, atleast for a while.

It was such a quick glimpse of little sections of the knife it was hard to tell for sure.

I probably should have made the title:

"Man kills attacking cougar with folding Buck knife?"

As opposed to:

"Man kills attacking cougar with folding Buck knife."

?????

Amazing story, glad he survived the ordeal. I took a look at the pictures and it sure looks like an LB7, definetely not a Buck.
Reminds me of the guy that killed a grizzly bear with his 110. He was also an older gent.

I seen that on "I shouldn't bne alive" tough old bird to take out an attacking griz with a 110.

Keep in mind fellas, that what you see on the Discovery Channel are re-enactments. The knife you see could be nothing like what was really used. The magic of television...;)

Im glad the man survived! I always edc 2 to 3 knives on me at all times & a Xd-45 acp. but when im up in the woods I carry my S&W 44!!!:D
