i stayed at moms house for over a week and my laptop worked perfectly fine. i get back home and plug it in and turn it on and i get problems. now it doesnt even start up. so now i had to come back to moms house and grab her desktop to use until i can get a new laptop. anyone else having a bad day either yesterday or today?

I am no expert, but recently had my screen get less light. I turned off the laptop then tried to restart. Wouldn't start.
Pused the reset "button"...no deal.
Checked the power supply, connections, reset on the power strip. all seemed OK. Took all plugins for the power apart and cleaned and it finally started up.. Check your power connections. Like I said I am no expert.

thanks for the suggestions. i know its not the power. i get power to the laptop but i cant get it to even kick on the laptop screen or my flat panel monitor. its about time i get a new laptop anyways.
 
HEHEHEHE!!!!! ive been posting less and less lately. but my mom let me borrow her desktop until i can get a new laptop. since hers was a bit outdated i just took the parts from my old desktop and used them to upgrade hers. i switched out processors, added more RAM, and switched out video cards. its still out of date but it runs faster now and performs better. i might switch out her cd player for one of my dvd burners. not sure yet. still trying to get the data off of my laptop hard drive. hopefully it didnt go bad too cause it has all my autocad knife patterns.
 
Or we could just meet halfway there is a great Mexican restaurant around bandera rd. (hw 16) and 1604 called the auga calientes.

Hope ya didn't burn your hardrive. All hardrives have some info called MTBF...mean time before failure. So that means not "if" it craps out but "when" it craps out :jerkit: .

I thought you computer geeks always backed up your important information :jerkit:
 
i had already backed up the important stuff. i just wanted to get my drawings back. i also wanted to try and get all my bookmarked webpages back. now i need to try and make sure i got all the supplier sites bookmarked again.
 
HEHEHE!!! i dont look at porn sites. i just hope i have found all of the knife makers supply sites i had before. ive got jantz, pops, tks, darren, moscow hide and fur, and industrial abrasives. anything im missing?
 
ok its official. i hate fedex. because of them, darren might be out $36+shipping. they cant find my quench oil. it was supposed to have been here tuesday. the last time they saw it was saturday at 2am when it left fort worth texas. only fedex is to blame for it. if i could afford it i would reorder the oil from darren so that hes not out the money.
