I have owned my very first strider (tanto smf) for about 3 days now and, sure enough, I've found rust on the blade . I've heard they have issues with rust but I'm still suprised. I usually dont have much of an issue with it in my region.

Oh well, still love the knife. I just know that it needs more attention then the others!

I used this on my Strider folders, a Lansky Eraser Block.
Works also very well to clean crock sticks, :D

The rubber block with very fine abrasive particles in it smoothens out all the high spots in the bead blast (which tend to hold moisture between them) on your blade without visually tampering with the finish.
Never had any rust since and it even cuts better because the blade surface is much smoother now.

Bead blasted S30V? My one and only S30V knife that had real rust problems was a Harsey T1 with bead-blast finish.

Looks great, but you do have to watch it around moisture, or if you rinse out the knife to get it clean. Gotta make sure you get ALL that moisture out before letting it sit!

I wouldn't make a difference who the maker is, bead blasted s30v is gonna rust if you don't maintain it.

My stonewashed SnG has had a few rust specks show up. Not too big of a deal, just wipe it done with tuf cloth every once in a while.
