Not a common sighting around Bladeforums, but a talented and VERY qualified maker. His Bullseye folders are his signature model, although he has done a number of different styles.

Sal just sent me a pair to do my thang, and they are worthy of many eyes.

Rare to see him with a 'Dress Tactical' version:

Phillip and Lifter really elevated this piece as well!

A 'traditional' Bullseye:

I have owned one for years. F&F is beyond clean:

Barely 50 knives under his belt and a multi-year waiting list has made him highly sought after. Keep your eyes open! ;)

I like the spacer detail - checkering on the outside, polished whorls on the inside. How does the checkering feel in the hand? Nice work on the red spacers, the carbon fiber around the pivot in #3, and the transitions between different materials in general.

Coop- should the right insert pic here have had the knife closed, as in the other like it?
He he he! It's ALL a matter of opinion, Mike. Sal thought highly enough of Lifter's work that HE preferred the image with the sheath in the core shot over his closed view. Did I take a shot of the knife closed as you preferred? Sure did. I gave him choices.

This falls right in stride with the laborious 'critique' threads being played out now. Your preference is valid, but the artist and myself chose to do it this way for a specific reason. ;) (Aren't you glad you asked....! )

That checkering is very grippy.

Coop, I think what Mike was referring to are the inserted images. They are the same for the dress knife, but for the regular Bullseye, the one on the left shows the knife closed, and the one on the right shows the knife open.

I really like when one of the inserts shows the knife closed as you can see how well it is centered.

Like Keith said, I refer to the INSERT shot. It is a bit silly to have two identical pictures as inserts, given the limited space you work with. If he didn't like the closed shot, isn't there something else you could zoom in on? Given the spectacular nature of the knives, I'm guessing there is much to choose from. But hey, if that's what Sal wants, he's the one paying...

The more I look at all of them, the more I like them. That checkering really is incredible.

Great images of knives by a great maker, Congrats to both. Thanks for sharing.

Operator error. Thanks for the clarification. I really missed that insert on the second shot being a duplicate. I had four or five images open at once.

Sal pointed me towards the main version with the inset of the knife closed, instead of in the sheath. How coincidental.

Mike, You were dead on. It SHOULD have had the closed view. Mea culpa. :p  I will update that photo later.

Thanks.

Those are BOTH incredible!! I have been after a Bullsye folder for several years now too!! Thanks for sharing such great pix Coop!!

Here's the shot I thought I had.....

Quality, quality, quality. Yeah, the pundits will dislike mokume, but the pundits might even be wrong; on this one. Hey, even I'm wrong now and then....

Patapsco Mike: Thanks for the kind words. :)

Fossil ivory, according to Sal.

A beautiful knife is even more beautiful when it is dressed up and much better when photographed with excellence.

That knife and sheath are a perfect match.

I love Sal's Bullseye. I have a lefty and a righty- both are perfect in construction fit and finish. Plus, Sal seems like a great guy in talking with him.

Thanks Coop for the outstanding pictures-always appreciated.
