Hi people,

I've got this open question here...Any love for the G10 ManBug out there?

never handled one nor the lady bug, seems like they are close to a SAK SD size wize.

I've got several Ladybugs (bought my first one in the mid 90s) and they're probably my most used EDC. The Manbug I've considered buying but haven't yet because I don't like the belly on the blade compared to the Ladybug.

The ergos on the Manbug are great. I get a surprisingly firm grip on the little handle. The G-10 version is classy. I love mine.

I have a zdp lady bug on my hiking stick attached to a paracord lanyard. Its a neat little knife.

I love my G-10 Manbug. It's one of my main carry knives. Small enough to take almost everywhere.

Love my FRN Manbug, carry it everyday, coupled with my FFG Endura as of late. Gonna ask the wifey for a BRG ZDP version for Yule.

I'd like to pick one up when I get more play money. It always seems to go to the back of the line for me probably because I'm already happy with the FRN versions of the smaller knives so I can "survive" with not having one for now. Should be a tough little bugger.

The G-10 version feels amazingly solid due to the SS liners. Locks up like a trap. I like my FRN ladybug but I LOVE my G-10 Manbug.

I'm a huge fan. To be honest, when they were first announced, I didn't see the size difference between the Manbug and Ladybug as anything major. But in use - there is a HUGE difference between the two. The Manbug is actually usable for me, whereas the Ladybug is small enough that I can only use it for "keychain knife" tasks like opening envelopes. The Manbug, on the other hand, allows me to get a decent grip and perform some significant cutting tasks.

The ZDP-189 Manbug is a thing of beauty, too...

I've had a variety of Ladybugs, ffg zdp, sabre grind vg10, hawksbill vg10, h1 serrated.. Held off getting a Manbug just because I thought it would be too similar but it always had my curiosity.
Well I have 2 Manbugs in my LBK stable now, swapped out the zdp blade in the FRN into the g10 bolstered Manbug, and I'm liking that a lot. As other users have noted, the Manbug's dimensions may not seem that much bigger then the Ladybug but the overall effect is noticeable. Apart from being a little wider, It's also thicker then say the Dragonfly handle and this also helps fill out better in the hand compared to the LB. FRN a great "working" handle material -tough, excellent traction with the bi directional grip, the bolstered g10 is classy and feels really solid.
Comparing the zdp blades, the blade grind and distal taper is also more robust compared to my zdp LB - that's a superb slicer but is more delicate compared to the zdp Manbug blade which would would make it more utilitarian . The Manbug is a good example of Spyderco CQI evolution.
The Ladybug is a great LBK, the Manbug is a more robust more utilitarian evolution of that.

The G10 manbug was always very attractive to me but I never picked one up, actually I just traded for my first manbug, a ZDP. I do have a pair of ladybugs- a LB3HB in H1 on my keys and a original LB CE aus-6 I reground to a recurve to remove the serrated part and I really like both of those but I'm not sure how much use they'll get with the new manbug.

One of the few EDC's I refuse to sell! As far as an EDC, can pretty much complete any task necessary and no one freaks out when you whip out this cute little bugga. As a matter of fact it's usually an interesting conversation starter with non knife folk.

I like how light my FRN Manbug/Ladybug/Jester is. I dislike how the Bolstered G10 Manbug is nearly double the weight. For that particular knife, I'd rather not carry the weight. I always have a larger blade along with me, so I don't need my FRN Manbug to feel any more substantial than it already is.

I presently have two Manbugs with a ZDP189 version inbound, all plain edge, i do not like serrated edge blades. I find the G10 version feels better in the hand, but the weight especially in summer clothing counts against it. I have added short lanyards with false Turks Head stopper knots to give me a full four finger grip to aid OHO.

There is a video on YouTube by MrTomatoManJL on Manbug uses that is worth a look.

I have two, a ZDP-189 Manbug and a SuperBlue Manbug and the ZDP is honestly my most used EDC knife I currently have. I prefer the FRN over G10 in such a small folder otherwise it kind of defeats the purpose of less is more IMO. I pair it up with a ZDP-189 Delica with Spyderedge and it's a perfect pair. I'm finding my expensive PM2's, Manix's and others are seeing less and less carry and when I do its usually one day on the weekend.
