I've had a variety of Ladybugs, ffg zdp, sabre grind vg10, hawksbill vg10, h1 serrated.. Held off getting a Manbug just because I thought it would be too similar but it always had my curiosity.
Well I have 2 Manbugs in my LBK stable now, swapped out the zdp blade in the FRN into the g10 bolstered Manbug, and I'm liking that a lot. As other users have noted, the Manbug's dimensions may not seem that much bigger then the Ladybug but the overall effect is noticeable. Apart from being a little wider, It's also thicker then say the Dragonfly handle and this also helps fill out better in the hand compared to the LB. FRN a great "working" handle material -tough, excellent traction with the bi directional grip, the bolstered g10 is classy and feels really solid.
Comparing the zdp blades, the blade grind and distal taper is also more robust compared to my zdp LB - that's a superb slicer but is more delicate compared to the zdp Manbug blade which would would make it more utilitarian . The Manbug is a good example of Spyderco CQI evolution.
The Ladybug is a great LBK, the Manbug is a more robust more utilitarian evolution of that.
