Ok Becker Forum I grew a sack and did the strip and dip! Going to try to load all the pics but not post pad best I can while trying to keep it straight :)

First off you know the drill, remove the handles, apply stripper, find something else to do. So... I threw knife for a bit. But then all of sudden one disappeared into the wood!?/??!!! WTF magic trick? Threw another and -zip- again into the Fifth Dimension - nothing sticking out of the wood! Ok I get it. Threw the third and just had to start LOL! Check it out:

the soak! I used the citrus stripper, smells kinda' nice. don't know if it or the florescent lights was attracting the dang termites but I worked as fast as I could to get back inside.

That CS tanto is a heck of a blade. I have acutally tried to break mine and have failed repeatedly. Love the smell of fresh cut mango and carbon steel.

mango is so delicious and luckily in season now so they're everywhere! even green mango rocks - sliced into thick "potato chips" or chunks, dip in shoyu chili sauce MMM-MMMM ono! the piggies are all coming down to root also and snack on fallen fruits. like shooting fish in a bucket, not fair at all, so we pretty much abstain.

Looks pretty dang sweet! The machaxe I mean. Well and the rest too! :D
I did my boomslang with a mango finish and it turned out almost as good. Guess I shoulda thrown some pineapple in the mix. Or maybe I shoulda just started out with a machaxe to begin with.

Ya that prolly woulda worked a lot better.

This stump is still wet but I tried shaving it anyway :p I leave stumps here and there so I got something to hang onto or tie rope.

I think the machax would be MY go to too, if I lived on a island. I could go around choppin all day !! I'm not totally sure on the silicone rag, but i too live about 50 yards from the beach and have noticed a few surface rust areas on my stripped machax. I use gun oil and clich said to use a scotchbrite pad to remove any surface rust, which may slightly remove your patina but just gives you another chance to chop some more mangoes and pineapples. ALOHA Broda

If I was going to use the Machax to cut food, I wouldn't use gun oil or a silicone rag. Rather use mineral oil.
