I recently acquired a Manix2 that is FFG in S30
but I have noticed something that I don't like.

The ball spring is stiffer compared to all the old
Saber grinds in 154c that I have owned. (4)

I could flick them open and unlock with ease.
Wife and kid have had no problems till
the new S30s.

Did you guys "LAWYER SPRING" them stiffer?

Anyone else even notice that?

TIA

My manix 2 xl was really hard for me to get open at first. I'm not sure if it broke in or if I got used to it, but it's easy for me to disengage now. I'm not sure what you mean by lawyer spring, but I opened and closed mine 300 times within the week I got it, and it's smooth and easy now. I haven't handled the 154c though...

I'm not sure what you mean by lawyer spring.

Designing something because the lawyers said when it not needed.

All my knives get mechanical manipulation
to break them in.

To the point I think my wife is going to divorce me with the flicking.

Yeah my mom and my girlfriend aren't liking it too much...

I'm not sure what "old" is..

My Foliage Green Manix 2's are smooth as butter! I can just use my thumb to unlock..
My blk/satin FFG s30v was easy as well.
The Cruwear, I just got, is a good bit stiffer.. Like my blk/blk FFG s30v.(which has loosened up beautifully now!) I can unlock with just my thumb on the front.

I only have the one so my experience is limited but the lock spring on my FFG S30V is surprisingly stiff. I have to use both sides to release. The pivot is incredibly smooth. Once the lock is released it only takes a slight flick of the wrist to open and close. No thumb or finger flick necessary.

Just picked one up a week or two ago and it was stiff in the beginning and required a substantial flick of the wrist, but now it's getting pretty well broken in and just needs me to move my thumb. Last night I did *think* I noticed that once opened it was nearly impossible to unlock one handed, but at that point I'd just about rubbed my thumb raw anyway, so maybe it was just me. Today it seems fine.
