Just a heads up to anyone who wanted one of the sprint Manix 2's in Carpenter XHP better hop on over to KC FAST!!! I noticed they put them back up as being in stock yesterday so I called to make sure. As of 3pm yesterday they had 5. I bought one so that leaves 4 at the most. It's still listed as being in stock so if you want one get there now. UPDATE: They are gone!

I'm really looking forward to mine (1st Manix and 1st experience with this steel). Should be here on Monday or Tuesday :D How does the XHP sharpen up?

Well, I just got my M2 eight days ago and haven't had to do anything yet. I have read that S.G. said that it is tough to grind.

I have an EP apex so it shouldn't be too hard

I got my second run CTS-XHP manix 2 last week. i spent this week giving my para2 a workout so i can't really say how the steel performs. but its next up in the rotation.

I got one and it came with no bushings on one side. I've sent couple emails and called spyderco 3 times to see if its normal but no response yet.

I'm finding it to be funny stuff. When I bring it down to 1 micron diamond spray on leather the edge gets a bit ragged, jagged, chippy... whatever, just not smooth. Weird. But leaving it at 3 micron diapaste on leather makes for a fabulously clean, smooth, and sharp edge with just a touch of useful bite to it. The factory grind scratch pattern was/is very large and deep. I've done a lot of stropping with high quality diamond products at the 3 and 1 micron level and it hasn't smoothed out much at all. I suspect I need to bring it back up to maybe 6 mic diapaste to start getting anywhere in that department. This steel certainly does hold an edge, though. Anyone know its Rockwell hardness?
