Trying to decide between that and the new release 521002 grey g10 .
Big price difference was wondering some opinions on this one .
I’m leaning towards the cpm 154/ S90v CF . I like carbon fiber and not a big fan of DLC . Not that I dislike it a lot it’s just not a preference .
But the 521002 still has me very interested at the price point along with dark grey g10 .

Personally, I have a Manix in S110V so I’m not very interested in the cf S90V model at the price it’s coming in. I’ve really been enjoying the ease of sharpness and level of sharpness I’m getting from my 52100 PM2 so my vote is for 52100.

I like carbon fiber, especially the different variants Spyderco releases and am looking forward to some of the DLC options they’re releasing.

Out of your choices , I'd definitely go with the CPM 154/S90V/CF. The composite blade is unique and the CF is gorgeous. I love stainless and CF.

Replace that 52100 with M4, then there is a comparison here. Otherwise, cpm154/s90v cf all day and everyday. It has better steel and looks more beautiful.

I went with the 52100 between these 2. My Ti Millie with S90 has been chippy with wood. My 52100 Millie has been great, dosen’t get dull easily and the edge is very easy to maintain. I forced a patina on the blade and no rust issue so far.

I own both 52100 or M4 in satin finish.
Manix M4 and PM2 in 52100.

Either in DLC would be fine.

As for S90V, I find it to be a PIA to sharpen compared to M4 or 52100.

I'd say it depends on your intended use.
52100 for toughness and ease of maintenance
CPM154/S90V for edge holding and corrosion resistance
Can't go wrong either way, but as its been said, S90V is a pain to sharpen.

s90v is no more difficult to sharpen than s110v for me. Even then, I don't find it difficult at all to sharpen s110v...may take a little longer, but not any more difficult. Diamonds and patience are the ticket to getting s110v sharp. Just don't ever let them get too dull and you should be ok. Out of your two choices, I'd go with the 52100, since I already have s90v. 52100 will be a tougher steel and faster to get sharp.

How much toughness do you need on a smaller folder (smaller in the sense of comparing to a fixed blade chopper)? I always choose edge retention over toughness on sub 4" folders.

Thanks for everyone’s input and opinions it’s much appreciated.
I’m leaning towards the kw exclusive in 521002 . Mainly because of its price point and what it has to offer for the money .
I will keep everyone posted
