I am looking at these two knives, which would you get? I like the design of the manix 2, but am uncertain about BD1 steel. Is the manix 2 good or should I get the Delica 4? Thanks

Both steels are good for edc, but the manix is quite a bit larger than the delica. The manix will be better for heavy duty and the delica will be better for light everyday stuff. Unless your everyday includes need for a heavier use knife, then get the manix. When considering which knife you should get steel is just one of several things you should look at to make sure you enjoy your pick

Those models are quite different. I would not base that decision on steel alone. The Manix is larger and more hand filling. The Manix is a better hard use knife and the Delica is a better precision EDC knife. The Delica is one of my all time favorites. It is not light duty but the Manix is more heavy duty.

No experience with BD1 steel, but the Manix is about as close to perfection in a knife that I've found yet. I absolutely love the platform. Out of all my Spydercos the Manix really blew me away from the start. The ergonomics alone make it a home run.

I absolutely love my Manix 2/g10/s30v. It can handle about anything you throw at it and then some, but does ride large/heavy in pocket if that is an issue. Also have the Delica and it is a great slicer, small, compact, but won't handle the abuse a Manix can. Depends on what your intended use cases are for it. Delica is a classic EDC blade though.

Get the one that fits your hand the best. They both can handle some hard use. The main thing the ffg makes the tip thinner so they wont be total hard use knives. Although that depends on what you consider hard use. They will be excellent slicers. I prefer the manix 2 for grip bit the delica for pocket space and it has less drag when slicing through things like apples.

I'd say which size and design works for you. Vg10 and bd1 are similar enough I can't really tell the difference in my experience. The hap40 and zdp189 or s110v would make more a difference. I personally reccomend either. Both great blades.
