looks realy nice. How do you like that lock i watched a test where it failed over and over makes me a bit nervous of this lock style

I don't want to bring up 'that video' again, but I think it is fairly safe to say that was a fluke. Don't beat the tar out of the knife with a log and keep the pivot tight and it should be fine. As long as the pivot stays tight and the tolerances are kept it should be one of the strongest locks available.

I have used my S90V Manix 2 a lot for all sorts of things in the shop, yard and as an EDC and the thought or feeling that it would fail never crossed my mind. The Manix 2 with FFG blade is one of my favorites for EDC.

alrighty, until i handle one i wont know for sure I guess hehe i just know how hard i work knives and realy like my fingers hehe. Did spyderco re-do it somewhat because i realy like the manix especialy if its obtainable in ffg

I'm sure there are lots of people who will disagree with me, but I think the Manix 2 CBB lock is stronger than the original Manix back lock. At least from an engineering stand point since I have not broken either one.

I would also be willing to bet Sal and Eric did not produce a weaker knife in the second generation model. I'm sure Sal and co have tested more knives to destruction than every person on this website combined. They even have a machine to break knives and gather data which I don't think too many companies do. I don't think you have anything to worry about unless you just outright abuse your knives which you should probably not be using a knife, let alone a folder, if that is the case.
