Manix 2 FRN news?

I've been looking forward to the Manix 2 FRN with FFG blade. Does anyone have an idea on when this might go into production?
 
The scales of the knife are actually Edgetek's FRCP (Fiberglass-reinfornced co-polymer), which I know is like splitting hairs when compared to FRN, but the FRCP I believe is a bit lighter and has a slightly different texture than the FRN...maybe someone else can chime in on this.

Anyway, I've signed up to be notified via email from BladeHQ when they are in stock (still haven't received said email)...and Howe's Knife Shop says they are shipping out on 10/19, which is today, but their website still lists them as "out of stock" when I checked this morning. :confused:
 
I ordered from Howe's, it shipped yesterday. I snagged one of the collector's numbers though, maybe he hasn't gotten in his full regular shipment yet.
 
Howes is all sold of the collectors club knives and will not be getting the regular versions in for a another 2 weeks or so.

I suspect thats when they will be in stock everywhere else too.

Its a shame Howes doesn't do Pre-orders anymore, as I had this one on pre-order since last January and it wasn't honored.
 
Mine shipped from KC yesterday. OTOH, I've had it pre-ordered since February, so I don't know what their current inventory is like.
 
Alrighty, 2+ weeks it is.

Please post up your impressions of the knife when you get yours! :D
 
Early impressions:
Pros -
- FRCP is pretty, my wife wants a clear-pink one now (she also loves the weight, this could be a really good target audience maybe)
- This knife is ridiculously lightweight for the size
- IMO a good knife for the price and another interesting way that Spyderco brings variety to different price ranges

(semi) Cons -
- Not as sharp as my last 4 Spydies (Para2, Junior, Endura, Navaja), but still pretty sharp
- This is my first Manix-2, my first ball bearing lock, and it isn't quite for me. Functionally, there is nothing wrong with it, I just love the compression lock a lot more now. YMMV depending on your lock preference.

I wanted to take some pics for comparison, but had a busy weekend. Will try this week or next weekend.
