Manix 2 LC200N?

I would love this, but it would probably be a yellow lightweight, and I'm a fan of the G10 and a less obtrusive color.

My gut tells me that Spyderco is mainly going to reserve Lc200n for the Salt knives. Many folks have asked for a salt version of the Manix and I’m sure they are considering what it would take to make one rust proof. I think that the spring is an obstacle to making a Manix 2 salt. I suspect the current spring would rust very quickly in full blown daily saltwater exposure. Are springs like that even available in rust proof materials? If so at what additional cost?

I don’t know anything. Just some of my musings.

Maybe the backlock version would be more viable then? But I assume when people are Manix fans, it's for the ball bearing lock more than anything.

Back lock

Not sure how the coil spring of the CBBL would fair as a "salt" knife. Perhaps an LC coil spring but not sure if that's feasible?

Maybe a titanium spring? I don’t know if they make them or how expensive they would be. Another option would be a coated spring. The ball bearing would also have to be ceramic.

I remember Sal say they were experimenting with lc200n hardware too, but I'm not sure if they ended up doing that.

They already have a Manix back lock. The Native backlock already comes with LC200N in the Salt series. It would be a matter of changing the blade steel on the Manix and the lock bar steel to match what is already done. Of course, I would prefer FRN scales, but I would be okay with G10. I would rather have translucent yellow FRN.

I never thought of that.

I would buy either. Backlock Manix Salt sounds great! G10 or FRN or FRCP.

Yes they have this on the Spydiechef I believe as well as the new LC200N Salt models. I don't know if any of those have springs though.

I don’t think any of the Salt models use anything but stainless hardware. No lc200n screws or hardware. The liners on the new Caribbean are Lc200n but the hardware (aside from the ti clip) is stainless.

Well now there's a drool puddle at the thought of translucent yellow handles.
