I'm temped to buy one of these knives for home and yard edc use. I've already got a PM2, Delica 4, Chaparral & DF2. Consider me hooked on spyderco.....

Both the Manix 2 lightweight and Sage 1 are similar weights and around what I like to carry. Most of the time I'm just wearing running shorts around the yard and while not a huge increase I do notice the extra weight and pocket swing of my PM2.

I Figured something with a different lock for a bit of fun factor and a play with higher grade steel, honestly I'm steering towards the Manix 2 in S110v but would like others opinions as I cannot handle either knife before purchasing. I live in Australia and buying either one online is within $10 of each other.

I've no idea why but the Sage 3 doesn't really appeal to me at this stage.

I vote the Manix. I'm still amazed how light it is for its size and I really like S110v. I don't have any experience with the Sage but the Manix has a lot to offer.

LW Manix for sure. It is unbelievably light for its size. The lock is really fun to use. I had a sage but let it go..

Two completely different knives IMO, one's a gentleman's knife with liner lock and CF scales for more formal use and the other's larger and more of a tactictal knife IMO. You're just going to have to weigh the differences between the two and decide for yourself which works better for you. Both are great knives for what they're designed to do. Buy them both and use the Manix for EDC and the Sage 1 for more formal occasions.

+1, though I personally don't group the LW Manix into the tactical category. The Sage, any Sage, is a marvel of fit, finish, design and ergonomics. It would certainly be capable of yard work, but using one for such tasks would be akin to buying a platinum sledgehammer IMO. Lots of people beat on much more expensive knives though. The S110v would make an awesome yard knife and its light weight will fit in with your attire nicely...the less expensive BD1 LW would work just fine too.

Home and yard use? Definitely Manix. The Chaparral isn't too far off from the Sage 1, I don't think.

Thanks everyone. I ended up watching LOTS of YouTube 😁 and decided the Manix 2 was for me ATM.
