I am thinking about purchasing a Manix 2 lightweight in BD-1 steel. I have a few Manix 2's already (such as the S90V model). I love the overall Manix 2 design.

Does anyone have this lightweight knife yet? Is it too lightweight at 2.85 oz?
Anyone have experience with this steel?

It hasn't been released yet (though I'm eagerly awaiting my pre-order) but there are a few comments about it in this thread.

As for the steel, I think it's the first Spyderco to use it, and I can't think of another production knife that uses it, but I may be mistaken about that.

Spyderco released a Mule Team with it. Should be similar to the old GIN-1 that Spyderco used as it's supposed to be the powdered version. Although, Ankerson rated it the lowest out of all the steels he tested as far as edge retention.

Thanks. I was a little confused because Manix 2 lightweight is being advertised in one of my supplier catalogues like it is already in stock.

I will wait to hear from people once it is released and tested.
