Blade swop completed & FRN scales 100% functional with substituted S30V blade.

Project well worth it - no wastage......

:)

That knife looks like it was made to be screwed together and not riveted. Bet you are loving your G10 Manix with the S110V blade way more, though.

What a question, of course....but I am busy pimping the S110V unit.....

Will post pics once done.

But... But you super voided your warranty! Was it really worth it?

I like the idea of making both knives what they should have been. I'm left scratching my head over the Manix S110V... seems odd to make super high end steel on an otherwise cheap knife. Not that I am complaining.

The warranty does and never has bothered me ever.

Once I am satisfied that the unit out of the box has no flaws, I take it apart, mod the contact areas clean, lube & reassemble.

Costs me more to ship a return knife than sometimes buying a new one.

:)

Are the existing holes in the handles/liners 3mm already or did you have to increase them to 3mm to make your new hardware fit?

They were fine, excepting for the holes in the figure of eight little liner around the pivot which was a bit tight - slight ream with a carbide drill bit & all was fine.

:)

Would a flush pivot screw like the PM2 work here? That way all the hardware is uniform..

Great job btw!

The hardware you linked to in the other thread seems to be a perfect fit for this application. Too bad it's sourced from South Africa, that would probably cost a lot to ship. I have not been able to find something similar here in the US.

Yeah, 99.9 % of my stuff is imported from the US of A......how do you reckon my wallet feels.....forlorn & seriaaasly neglected & abused...

;)
