I think comparing the Dragonfly and Manix is a bit of an apples and oranges situation.

I have both, and in my opinion, they definitely fit into very different categories.

While they both have leaf shaped blades, the considerable size difference will certainly set them apart. I won't say that either one is a "better" size but obviously the Dragonfly is better at fine, precision tasks. The Manix is an excellent slicer. I cuts fruit, slices open large bags (grain bags, cat litter bags, etc), thick rope, etc with ease.

The Dragonfly also seems to have better ergos. Even though it's smaller, it generally feels better in my hand.

As far as the steel goes, ZDP-189 takes the prize hands down. Superb edge retention. However, sharpening is a bit of a chore.

Either way, I prefer my Techno...:p

definitely going to get the Dragonfly for my next purchase. A holiday gift for myself. Your response was a great help, thanks a lot!

Your going wih the ZDP dragonfly I hope? Nothing wrong with any of them (and the full weight G10 version is an amazing knife) but if I'm going to purchase another (I have a PE salt) it would be the FRN ZDP one, in a 2.25" knife I don't know of another knife that offers better steel & ergos for even double the price.

If I ever have a spare $150 I'll buy a G10 VG-10 and the FRN ZDP-189 and put the ZDP blade in the full weight handle and have one BA knife!
