I am a big fan of CPM-M4. I currently own a [sprint] Manix 2, presidio, and griptillian in M4. I've been told multiple times on this forum that the Gayle Bradley is the best knife there is in M4. I got out to a shop that had one today and played around with it. To be honest, I don't see any advantage of it over the Manix 2. I didn't like grip shape, I don't like liner locks compared to axis/bearing locks, and I don't like carbon fiber vs the grippier G10. It didn't feel nearly as smooth as the Manix, although that's probably related to break in. I assume the Manix M4 and the GB M4 are the same. So I have to ask...what's so special about the Gayle Bradley?

As I side note, they had a para-military that I loved. Wish they made it in M4.

That's OK, you don't have to like the GB. You'd probably hear more about the Manix2 in M4 if more people had them.
The high, deep hollow grind on the Bradley makes it an exceptional slicer. More so than the FFG Manix2. The Bradley is much thinner behind the edge.

I have the GB, and would like to have a sprint Manix2 but have not handled one yet.

If you watch the video interview of Mr. Gayle Bradley you will see his ideas and why he designed the knife the way that he did.

The GB is somewhat hollow ground which might make it a little better for slicing. It is also a whole lot less expensive than a Manix 2 sprint. Otherwise they are just a little bit different and maybe it is hard to say that one is better than the other.

Ah, I did not know it was a hollow grind. That's a significant difference. I still prefer the flat grind of the Manix, but I can see why some people would prefer the hollow grind and therefore the GB. I bought my Manix 2 used here on the forum, not sure what the original prices were, or current prices for a NIB one for that matter.

Thanks for the replies, although more input is welcome.

the gayle bradley looks at home with a suit and tie and the manix 2 looks tactical - at least to me...haven't handled a gb before but my manix 2 sometimes feels too heavy in my jeans pocket. i'll definitely won't be pocketing it with any kind of a business attire since i'll feel it flop around even more.

I own them both, but use the Manix 2 and leave the GB in the box. The GB is a solid, good looking knife. The Manix 2 is a lot "handier" in use.
