I just saw a couple of Manix 2's with S30V. When did these models come out? I always thought it was 154cm steel?

The pricing did not change at all either. I'm going to have to swoop one of these up! Anyone here with a manix and S30V? I'm assuming all else is the same.

I know I may be late to the party but never the less pretty stoked about picking one up! Never owned a manix before. I do have a large Griptilian, I wonder how the smoothness compares.

Just got my S30V Manix a few days ago, it uses the same bushing system as the PM2 and is very smooth. It locks up solid. These have some weight to them with the hollow grind blade and solid liners, but it carries well for a larger folder. I like them.

i love mine and i havent heard any negatives about it other than some people not liking the clear release

Just put an order in for mine. $75 shipped! Not to shabby.
Can't pass this up with S30V!

It's a nice folder for the cost, I am also a big fan of Spyderco's S30V as a good baseline steel.

I suspect the switch in knife steel from 154CM to CPM-S30V maybe a result of Benchmade offering their Griptilians' now in S30V.

The answer is in the linked thread above

We’re able to offer the S30V blade steel at no additional manufacturing costs. We have perfected our processes with S30V to the point where we can make the switch. Though there is a raw material increase from S30V to 154CM, our processing costs differ. Win/Win for everyone
