What is the difference between an 86mm Manix and a 83mm? 3mm obviously but what are we talking about? Probably a very dumb question but I have to ask. Thanks all

I believe the 83mm and 86mm designations are referring to the original Manix and Mini Manix models. But I went ahead and did a search to see if there was any connection to the Manix 2 and for some reason, 83mm came up with the g-10 models and 86mm came up with the FRN models. Which is strange because I thought they were the same size. These might just be some weird legacy designation. I would be interested in a more informed answer too.

The poster above is correct. The mm designators refer to the old school lockback versions of the Manix and Mini Manix. The current Manix we have today is just called the Manix 2....either in FRN or g10 or fluted Ti.

As a side note the original Mini Manix was designated as 80mm. Later it was decided that 83mm was more accurate.

So if you have or see an 80mm Mini Manix - it is an older version.

(I have two)
