Manix 2 regular vs Lightweight?

I'm going to be picking up another knife soon, and have decided I would really like to have a Manix. I like both the regular Manix 2 and the new lightweight model. Unfortunately, I don't have the funds to buy both. Primary use will be fairly light including cutting boxes open, letters, cutting tape, etc. And weight isn't a huge concern either since I am used to carrying my 0550. Any benefits from one to the other? Your opinions please.

I don't really like plastic, or riveted construction, so the regular Manix suits me better with its G10 and neat bushing system. I haven't tried the steel on the plastic manix, but 154CM is one of my favourites, which is another reason I'd go with the regular manix.

Most of the advantages/disadvantages of these knives are just a matter of personal preference as far as I can tell.

I prefer the normal G-10 model. While I like the flat grind of the FRN version, I prefer the screw construction, G-10 handle and S30V blade steel of the regular Manix 2. I don't mind the weight one bit and I've been carrying my Manix 2 all this week as it's one of my favorite folders.

If the weight of the knife isn't a problem then I would go with the g-10 Manix.
I personally have the lightweight Manix and its fantastic for edc but like I said, if weight isn't an issue than just go with the g-10 Manix.

How come some places show the steel on the regualr Manix as S30v and others as 154cm even though part numbers are the same?

Spyderco used to use 154cm for the Manix 2, but switched over to S30V earlier this year. We got a steel upgrade and the price stayed the same. I actually have the 154cm version and I've been very pleased with it. In general, though, I prefer S30V.

Either way, I prefer both to the CTS-BD1 used in the FRN model.

G10

I have the lightweight, regular, and XL, if I could keep only one it would be the G10 regular plain jane Manix 2.

I have had all plus sprints. I traded the lightweight and miss it. I also prefer its ffg. My orange.sprint made up for it tho. The pin construction doesn't matter as you can't tighten a manix pivot because of the bushings. The para 2 is the same way.
