Manix 2 Stag Arms

Saw one on ebay priced around double what Cutlery Shoppe is asking for their sprint

It has a pretty nifty G10 colour (dark grey/blue? haven't seen it before) but it's not really my cup of tea. Too blacked-out and tactical.

That price is what the MSRP was for the blue S30V sprint, but dealers discounted it heavily. Jeff is offering a great price on the orange sprint. The pink sprint, which was dealer-commissioned was also discounted. It will be interesting to see how Stag prices this one - MSRPish or street pricing?

Stag Arms posted over on the Spyderco forums that the knife is:

Full flat-ground S30V blade with black coating
“Stag Arms” engraving on blade
Black Skeletonized Liners
Dark Green G10 scales
Black hardware and screws

No mention of price, but he said they should be in stock Friday and that you can check their website then for more info and pictures.

edit: pricing update - $135

The knife looks good and $135 for FFG, made in Golden coated blade, with nice color G10 sound acceptable for me. But IMHO there are too many Manix2 variants in very short time to collect all of them. I really regret that C95 The Manix never had this treatment. I would love to see C95 sprint with the same color of scales.

I am reluctant to collect a bunch of Manix 2s, as there is supposed to be a strengthening/redesign of the lock soon, correct?

Short answer, intended to be friendly: this is a non-issue, and you aren't likely to be able to tell the "new" M2 from the original. The change amounts to a few thousandths or less difference in the blade tang, as I recall it being described. I would not let this hold up the purchase of a Manix 2.

Do you have any knowledge of when will this change be implemented?
