Manix 2 stiff lock

I like my Manix 2, it's a real tank. But the lock is a bit hard to manipulate. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to make it a little easier? Will it break-in? I've only had it a few days.

Just using mine and flipping it open and closed made it easier to unlock. But it still takes 2 fingers and is no where near as easy as an AXIS lock but I still like it. My S90V model is one of the few I carry anymore. I've got my favorites and they are the only ones that get carried.

Yes I have also read that is how it was designed. But does it need to be that stiff? It works on the same principle as the AXIS lock which takes quite a bit less force to unlock and works fine that way. I still like it but would like it more if it had less spring force to overcome.

It will break in. My P'Kal used to take 2 fingers on each side but now I can use one. I still use 2 anyways just by habit.

Just open and close it a lot for a week, it will help. Mine is easy to unlock with just my thumb now, it's real smooth but still very secure.

Two here, neither has loosened up with use.

There is a really obvious potential solution, but I'm not going to post it here...and I wouldn't do it myself.

Mine broke in slowly over the course of a couple of months. It started to get smoother after a week or so and I can finally close it with just my thumb now, though it's still difficult (maybe I just have sissified hands :p). There seems to be a bit of a learning curve too as you figure out ways to hold it and pull back on the cage.

Opening and closing is like ball bearings on grease in zero G. It's the unlock that is tough to do one-handed.

I have 3 versions of the Manix. The one I have used the most has loosened up comfortably with use. The others are still sort of stiff.

I can manipulate the lock one-handed on the loosest version, but I can't say that it's pretty.

I managed to manipulate the lock with just my thumb a few times today. And my fiancee commented that it feels a lot easier than when I got it a few days ago. I'll keep playing with it :)

I got my first Manix 2 yesterday and I couldn't even disengage the lock with my knife hand, I had to use my free hand. After I used it and opened and closed it a bit, it's looser now and I can close it with my knife hand only. It's still a little stiff but use it and it will break in.
