Today at work I totally put my XHP manix 2 to work above and beyond what I usually put a folder up to . I'm a ibew electrician for CBS and part of my job is maintenance work on their billboards, this time of year they are very overgrown with vegetation and it's hard to get to the electrical service on the structures . My van is in the shop therefore my machete was not in the replacement truck and I needed to rely on my trusty spyderco to clear a path !! I was taking full arm swings at saplings and weeds up to 1" thick which the freshly sharpened blade (brown sharpmaker stones) easily sliced through .. I was suprised how easily they were defeated :p !!! Believe it or not the blade still easily sliced receipt paper afterwards !!! I am now fully impressed with this steels toughness and edge holding ability and would like to see more if it !!!!

Awesome! It's hard to beat a Spyderco with a full flat grind!

...it didn't even flinch.

I've used my Manix to trim up our bushes out front on occasion. Prolly scaring the neighbors.

Looks good!! Did you touch up the edge at all or just clean it? BTW, WTH did you use for a back drop on the edge pix? lol

I've been happy with the performance of CTS-XHP. I've yet to put any heavy use on the M4 Manix 2 but the comparison should be interesting.

I was thinking about trading my XHP manix 2 for a military, but now i think im going to keep it!

Nice pics! I love the super-thick FFG. To me, it seems to create a stronger tip than a hollow grind. And I really dig the performance of CTS-XHP as well. My XHP Manix is probably one of my top 5 favorite knives, definitely top 10.
