Ok guys I'm torn between these two knives: The Manix 2 Trans Blue and the Sage 1 CF.
I like photography and I think both of these will do me well when it comes to that aspect. I don't hard use my knives and they don't really get used a whole lot. I carry them alot but they don't cut much most of the time. What would you recommend between these two and why. Thanks.

I own both of these knives and I prefer the Sage 1 over the Manix 2 Trans Blue. Don't get me wrong, both are great knives and can't go wrong with either. It is just that I prefer the Sage 1 because [1] I am a sucker for carbon fiber, [2] fits my hand better, [3] deeper wire pocket clip, [4] I prefer the liner lock, and [5] smaller and easier to carry.

A Sage for you. If you're just looking for a pretty piece to photograph and wave around, go with that nice carbon fiber Sage.

Sage for me :) better steel (for me) better handle material, and I like the option to adjust my knife
The FRN Manix 2 is great, it's light, sharp, easy to carry, but if it's got screw construction i'd like it better

No one has suggested to get both. That's our usual answer to this question. It's actually pretty decent advise.

Sage 1 hands down. I'd get one of the special run Manix 2's but not the translucent. I steel isn't as good and it doesn't look as nice IMHO.

I have a sage 2 and 3 and I think I would get the sage 1, If I was in your position

The sage is an awesome, great little knife! Its very nice and the carbon fiber/g10 makes it look all "gentlemeny" (made up word, i know) My only problem with it is the clip will lose its retention over time and that its not full carbon fiber.

I could not agree more. It weights what a Delica lightweight does and has way more blade. As far as the OP goes, are you going to be photographing them?

I'm biased...

The Manix feels like an extension of my hand. I absolutely love it. Plus it helps that it's the light weight model because carrying guns and knives adds up after a few hours.

I'm going to have to go with the Sage CF as well, the f&f is amazing. I don't have the Manix so I can't say anything about that however, carrying the Sage is legal in most states considering its sub 3 inch blade. Also, it is the prettier among the two. Since your knives dont do much cutting I dont see why you would invest in a blade that is 3.34" long. Carrying that bugger will be a bit of a burden due to size despite its light weight.

Well said, I was going to suggest that until I saw your post :D. I see the Manix in my collection as well a few months from now!
