Manix 2 translucent or Native

I am trying to decide which to get for a new edc. I currently have serrated salt 1, delica 5 ffg, dragonfly 2, and manix 2 sprint run G-10. I have a paramilitary 2 sprint run reserved for early next year. I want a lighter knife. I love the size of my manix 2 and the lock up but it is a little heavy on my right side as I IWB carry my LCR. The delica and salt are nice weights but I want a new knife. I have even considered the pink Native but got outbid on eBay. Any suggestions?

Well, if you really like your Manix 2 then you should consider the FRN version. You can see all the technical details of each knife on Spyderco.com.

You might want to consider a Caly 3.5. Very thin profile makes for easy pocket carry, light weight, very ergonomic and full flat ground.

I agree with both of these points, I have the Caly 3.5 and the Manix 2 Translucent and they're both great. If you want a lighter knife that is easier to carry then you can't go wrong with either. The Caly 3.5 has a smaller footprint (in terms of width, length, and thickness of the handle) while maintaining the same blade length and has a deep carry clip so it is perfect for pocket carry.

It's just a matter of taste.
Both are incredibly well thought.
Get both.

I vote for the M2 Translucent. Manix size in a featherweight package. Plus it's just cool!

I have a manix 2 translucent on order at amazon and a got the black serrated Native. I really like the blade, very cool.

Thanks.

I have Native 2, Native 5, and both G10 and Translucent Manix 2. I brought the Translucent with me to Afghanistan, and I am delighted with my choice, so far. :) I actually like the Translucent more than the G10 Manix 2, which is saying a lot, considering my Manix 2 replaced the Native 2s I've been carrying for 10 years or more!

I have both and will say that the lightweight Manix is good, but the Native feels more substantial in my hand. D1omedes suggests the Caly 3.5, which is my favorite Spyderco. You may want to check it out as well.

I just got the Manix 2 moonglow EDC Forums and it is nice. I am waiting until amazon gains more stock on the translucent. Over the top, I just paid my invoice in the Para 2 blue sprint run-I am knife broke. Actually, I am just broke having purchased like 10 Spydercos, an LCP w/Lasermax and Xmas gifts fro three kids and my girlfriend, etc. No More Spydercos or Rugers until at least spring. I will then want a Persian.
