hi guys i just got my first spyderco and im blown away its the manix 2 xl it is perfect for me i have huge hands and it feels great. .i have a question for u guys as i dont know much about spyderco yet. On my manix the plastic studs that u pull back to disengage the bearing are solid black, now is this normal? becouse all the ones ive seen on here and on the web the studs are clear like transperent.thanks in advance guys.

Does it have skeltonizied liners as well?If so that means you received the newest version.

yes i looked inside and it is skeletonized wich was quite dissapointed as i had read it had full liners. .but its still cool

Well you cant please everyone.Full liners or any liners are not needed in the manix 2 design. Anyways you have the newest version.

I guess I have an old version. Full liners and clear plastic. I like it. One of my favorite Spyderco's but I might have to buy another one to see the difference. Maybe someone can post some pics of the newer version.

i would guess they do weigh less as there is more material removed but i dont hav the old version to compare. i ordered 2 of them and both came modern version. .lol i always duplicate my knives, i know kinda stupid but it makes me feel better when i can abuse one knowing i have a new one at home lol

i recently got a manix2 xl and have the black polymer stud and skele liners....i prefer skele as it weighs less. if youre gonna beat yer folder like a fixie just buy a fixie and forget about it.

If you dont like i will trade my older version with full liners if yah want :)

Is there any way to get the liners and black lock from spyderco?

Yes but it will also come with a extra blade, scales, clip and all the screws you need. :)

Other than the cosmetic change for the color of the lock, any difference in functioning where the lock is stronger?
