Anyone have any insider info on if the Manix 2 XL will get the S110V/Blurple G10 treatment? I've heard it might be released around summer. Please tell me this is true. Anyone know?

I have no idea, but will surely buy one when/if it happens.

My guess, strictly a guess, is that it will be pretty far down the list of possibilities. I base that on my perception that the XL has a somewhat limited market due to its size. Personally though I like the XL and I would likely buy one if they were available, but there are a few other Spyderco models that are higher on my list.

I thought I read that all the Golden made models were gonna get a blurple version at some point. I'm hoping it's true as I'll definitely be in line for the Manix 2 XL with nice, colorful scales and a steel that just doesn't quit.

I see the Manix xl as more of a work knife than the regular manix. Just how I like things, I wouldn't want my work knife in s110v. It just doesn't have that toughness factor for me. That being said, I edc a manix in s110v, and use an s30v manix xl as my work knife

Man, I'm hoping they make it. I've also heard that all Golden models would get the S110V/blurple treatment, but am not sure. I guess I'll just have to wait to find out.

i don't see why not! from what i have herd spyderco ordered a large supply of this G10/color blurple, and its just a matter of what steels and knifes to use it on!but i would love to see a native 5 in the blurple G10/S30-S35 come out,its really not a bad color!it grows on you/me..

Even with the recent USA factory expansion, they only have so much capacity for what they can make.

I would expect to see the Manix 2 XL (and even the Yojimbo 2) with the Translucent blue G10 and Crucible CPM S110V blades within the next year or so.

It won't have to grow on me, I already like it! I've always been a fan of blue and purple. My wife makes fun of me for liking purple. My car is dark blue, but has a hint of purple in certain lights. She calls it purple. But, honestly, I want that knife for the steel. I wouldn't care if the scales were pink carpet. I'd still buy it.

I hope you're right!

Yeah, I've seen quite a few on eBay and even one here. I just don't have $200 or so that I can justify spending on a knife right now. Especially now that I've gotten bitten by the knife making bug. I'd rather spend that on materials and tools. I'm currently planning to try my hand at making a folder, so with tools and materials, any spare $200 I have will go that way. One day I'll buy one.

Just an update on this: A friend of mine went to Blade Show and told me that Spyderco confirmed that the Manix XL will get the Blurple G10/S110V treatment.

Nothing listed in the 2017 catalog. Unless I'm missing it?

I really like that Blurple Color.

Why is the blurple/S110V of interest and the CF/S90V is not? 99% of users probably can't tell the difference in the steels, and the CF scales are an upgrade. Is it just that people really want the blurple color? The CF/S90V knives seem like a bargain, and they are available now. You don't have to wait for them.

I read praise for the Manix 2 XL and I really like it. It seems that there is some demand for it but yet used they seem to sell for low prices. I bought a used XL in S30V for what I thought was lower than bargain pricing, and I really like it.

They are a bargain. If you can deal with the pocket space they take up the xl is one of my favorite "rugged" spyderco.
99% may not be able to tell the difference but in my eyes the s110v with spyderco HT is a better folder steel than the s90v.
The 110v may be slightly harder to sharpen but the payoff in edge retention is worth it. I also think the recipe for 110v just makes a better steel.
I am sure the S30V model would be a corker too, and a bit more friendly to someone who might be limited to a sharpmaker for their pocket knife sharpening regimen.

I would rather see one in 3v, 4v, Cruwear or M4 but I would certainly buy one in S110V too. A ManixXL in 10V would tickle my fancy for sure. The same goes for the Yojimbo2, I would buy one in any of those steels.
