Hello All,

I am getting my first decent Spyderco knife. After going back and forth between the pm2, manix2 & XL I am set on the Manix 2 XL. The Tenacious is the only knife I have so far. Could someone that has both please provide a picture of the two next to each other? Thanks in advance for any responses.

I don't have a Tenacious (gave it to a friend), but I'll jist chime in to say that I vote Manix 2 XL. I will warn you ot takes a lot of pocket space, but it's quite tough, slices very well, lock is stiff at first but smoothes out nicely over time and it's just an extremely capable blade.

I don't think the XL takes up much pocket space, flat profile, feels good in hand.

I will be carrying IWB, so pocket space would not be a problem. Carrying Tenacious IWB today and barely notice it

I have both, can't give a picture from work, but I will this evening if someone hasn't by then. I would suggest the tenacious for EDC. The manix 2 XL is a beast, well suited for hard work, when you have gloves on...cause it will shred your hand lol but the blade is awesome and the lock up is very good.

The Tenacious and Manix 2 are relatively similar in size, by memory it seems that the Manix 2 handle is a bit longer than the Tenacious. The Manix 2 XL is larger than the Manix 2. I was carrying my Manix 2 this week- it is a large knife but not heavy or thick. I think most people prefer the size of the Manix 2.

This is the closest I have for comparison- Manix 2, Tenacious, PM2.

here are the pics. the fangs on the manix are what would shred your gloveless hands under any kind of ''hard work''. IMO, if your hell bent on getting a manix, the S110V light weight model is still around and would make for a better experiment. However, if your desire is for a high value, great ergo american made spyderdo, the Para 2 is your grail my friend :) (get that one lol)

Good advice.

Sorry I don't currently have a Tenacious for the pic.
The Manix XL is a favourite of mine, I've had it for near 4 years and wouldn't part with it. I don't find it to be too big in pocket at all, YMMV.
The XL is one of only 2 Spydercos I own that I feel carries better with a deep carry clip, the other being the Domino.
