I kinda thought the para2 was THE spyderco to own. But I just got a manix 2 full serrated and kinda wonder if the manix is about as good. I was never a fan of serrations but I beleive you cut a car into with this thing! Now I may have to get a plainedge. What about the sprint runs and different color handles? I guess everyone knows the military and GB are no good,ha ha. I would also like to get another GB.

I've owned and liked both designs. The PM2 offers a good combo of size and weight. Manix is a tank. I had a Manix 2 XL and it was a cool monster blade to carry. The flat grind was like a Para, but the blade notably larger.

Overall, see what "does it" for YOU. There are so many cool blades out there. I've bought/sold more knives than ill admit to :). It gave me some nice perspective on what I value.

One really cool Spydie for EDC is the Dragonfly 2. I bought the foliage green G10 version and really liked it. Very tough for its size and will easily handle many tasks. It will fit in the little coin pocket of your jeans too.

It's all a sickness anyways. A Delica would truly meet most people's needs, including mine. But, us knife nuts keep searching for that perfect knife. It keeps all the knife makers emloyed. :0)

The Manix 2 is one of my favorites

Razor - If you are a fan of the Gayle Bradley you might really like the Manix 2 Tan G10 CPM-M4 exclusive run for Bento Box Shop. It sold out but they pop up in the secondary market every now and then. I have a few Manix 2 sprints/exclusives and the M4 is my favorite user.

If you are not aware, Spyderco will be producing a sprint run of the Manix XL in S90V with peel-ply carbon fiber scales.

I am a recent Manix2 convert. I freaking love this knife! I am a huge Para2 fan and the Manix2's egros are on par with the Para2 and it has such a cool shaped blade (BTW, I am probably one of the few who prefers the hollow grind on the standard model Manix2 to the FFGs found on all the Sprints... I have lots of Spydies with the FFG (and love it and them), but the hollow grind on the Manix2 makes it look like a freakin' meat cleaver it just looks badass!). From an aesthetics perspective I would say that I probably prefer the overall blade profile of the Manix2. The Para2's blade is probably the better overall slicer, but really for my EDC tasks either is completely capable! I will say I still do prefer the compression lock of the Para2 ever so slighly to the Manix2's ball bearing lock, if only because it is faster to actuate (I have a lot more practice with it so maybe I am just better with the comp lock). The ball bearing lock of the Manix2 is super fun for fondling and flicking, but it is just a tad slower to manage than the comp lock, IMO.

Anyway, now that they are making the standard Manix2 in S30V (love S30V!!!) as far as I'm concerned it's every bit as good as the Para2. And I now consider myself to have a tie on my favorite Spydie list between the Para2 and the Manix2! It's that good! :) I will say though that I am a fan of PE blades, not much for serrations... but to each his own, if someone digs SE... by all means, enjoy!

Here's some Para2/Manix2 love!

Just got my first Manix 2, Hollow ground. I must say that I love this thing, I cant believe how perfect it is. lockup, etc. This is for sure my favorite EDC/Tactical knife. I prefer it over the PM2

I'll definitely second that thought. Two of my favorite Spydercos....both in CPM-M4.

I have heard so many good things about this knife, I purchased a Manix 2 in S30V and should have it shortly. Can't wait!!

I would like a normal black handle flat ground myself without the Sprint Run price tag. Have the lightweight and the XL but they are not the same you know?

I bought the Manix 2 lightweight just to dip my toe into the spyderco pool and see what all the hype is about. After one month, I am hooked and see why so many people love these knives. Wish I would have bought one sooner. I didn't know they made a blue G-10 version and going to have to buy one now.

I don't know how I didn't buy a manix earlier,I love mine

I used one to gut 3 deer and it worked great, didn't need to touch up the blade at all. When you do that type of work, it kills an edge fast but the Manix 2 kicked butt. My big thing is hitting the blade lock when using any knife, no prob with the Manix 2. Any time I can have a bigger EDC knife on me I take this one, like when I'm brewing beer or going to a BBQ cook off. I freeken love this knife

Would love to get my hands on a Manix2 M4. Would be the perfect compliment to my Para2 and GB. Would be my first Manix. I'm just not sure about the hollow grind on the Manix2. I do like the GB though so maybe a reg Manix2.....
