How thick is the blade, and is it thick behind the edge?I use knives primarily for cutting and slicing.

blade thickness is .125in, according to spydercos website

it has a 3.85in long blade, and a full flat grind

yea, it would be a hell of a slicer. if you gave it a nice mirror polish edge at 17 or 18 degrees, like most razor blades and kitchens knives are sharpened at, it would slice like an absolute monster.

FFG Spyderco blades have a blade spine that tapers from the point all the way back to near the pivot, so the front part of the blade is relatively thin. Hollow ground models such as the older Manix 2 have a thicker spine for most of the length of the blade.

If you find a photo online where someone is showing the centering of their blade you can see how thin the spine is for the outside half of its length.

Thanx guys, I thin out all my knives behind the edge a little bit on a belt sander, and will probably do the same when I get manix2xl.Wish Spyderco would make endura sized ffg blade but in thicknes of ffg delica...Anyways Spyderco rocks and I own maybe 7-8 of them.

Some people have had their FFG Enduras reground to a thinner profile.

One day I will probably do it myself.Have reground few of my folders to full convex grind and they perform really well.
