Manix 2XL

This past Saturday, I stopped by the Hagerstown knife show, and a local knife shop in Frederick, both in MD. One of the knives on my radar was a Manix 2XL. The Manix has been one of my favorite designs since Spyderco introduced the old full size lockback.

I was going to trade for a 2XL at the knife shop, but I had just completed a trade on Friday for one with a BF member. I should get it in the mail tomorrow, and I am excited to get it. Flat ground S30V is always a good thing, and for someone like me who is more like 4XL, bigger folders are fun. The only folder I've been looking forward to more this year is the Starmate.

I had a Manix ce but traded it bc I don't like ce anymore. If you had a Manix you remember the only jimping it had was on the thumb ramp. It also had a Black clip.

When I got my Manix xl I took my dremel and ground off all of the jimping all the way around the scales.....like the Manix was. I also heat treated the shinny clip

so it's a dark color.

Now I have a Maxix xl without the jimping and the backlock that feels and looks like a Manix but without the backlock which I Really Liked a lot.

I got the XL, and was surprised to find I LOVED it. Unfortunately, I lost it after a week.

I've had one about three weeks. I haven't done any real cutting with it, but it is one comfortable and well made knife!
