;) Hello, I have a Spyderco Manix that I recently received in a trade. I use a Lansky system to sharpen with. I know alot of you don't necassarily like the Lnasky but I do. My question is what would be the best angle for the Manix's edge? I have used 25 degrees and it gets sharp, but no where near my BM551 (440C) or my RAT-1 ( AUS8). I know that AUS8 takes a wicked edge and both of my knives are hair-popping sharp. I know I am getting a clean cut along the edge and I do strop after sharpening. So, I don't get why the Manix is not getting as sharp. Is that just a limitaion of s30v compared to the other two steels? I love the Manix it is a great knife, but I like to have my toys razor sharp. Thanks.:D

There should be no problem getting it very sharp, at what angle depends on what you intend to cut and how.

Well, I recut it several times and now it is razor sharp. I think that there was some softer metal at the edge. So once I cut it out and got to the hard stuff it has taken a very nice edge. I know once I had a Skirmish and it did the same thing. I also had a Apache that did the same thing so it just isn'y s30v. :D
