Well I've read lots of threads about this knife. It seems to be the best knife thats not too small, not too big, and can handle everything you could need. I carry a 610 right now, but I'd like to switch it up with a EDC easier to replace.

What you're experiences with manix? Like manix stories? Good pics?

I aim to get one this weekend. I have a chinook II and love the feel of the G-10, and overall construction.

You will be pleased.

The only complaint is the G-10's amazing appetite for pants pockets, wears them out in about 4 draws.

My Mini-Manix is an EDC, and it's been used to cut roots away from soil and similar tough jobs with no ill-effect besides minor scratches to the flat ground finish. Tough as nails and well-worth the $.

Just got mine this week... Love the knife. Typically love G-10 (favorite handle material). However, this G-10 sucks. It is almost sharp! Sal, what were you guys thinking? :) Anyway, I'm tempted to sand the G-10 down a teensy bit to take the "file-like" edge off the grip. I love my Renegade/Blackhawk G-10. Grips teh hand, but draws smoothly without snagging my pockets. Very refined. Otherwise, I love the size, fit and feel of the knife in hand.

It's one sweet knife I can't wait to show off... However, I'm on paternity leave right now, away from all my co-workers, who would appreciate such things... The lady at Walmart doesn't want me showing her my new Manix while I'm buying diapers and baby wipes... At least she didn't seem to be thrilled about it.. Maybe thats why she called for security and ran away. I simply thought I mistakingly got into one of those self serve isles... :D ZOh well..

ha ha i`d love to see the look on a sheeples face if i pulled out my new carbon fiber millie....

yer get it you will be very happy but you might want to look at the min-manix as it smaller and slightly lighter for everyday carry

I'll second the motion that the Mini is much easier to EDC. It's a heck of a knife, you'll be glad you got one :D

I've played with a few. They do feel extremely sturdy. I expected that. But what a lot of folks don't talk about is the superb ergonomics. It's arguably the most comfortable knife Spyderco makes. EG designs seem to be made for my particular hands...

The funny thing, most people would get shot for pulling out a knife in a police station.. I will get ooohs and aaaws! ;)

Almost got shot a Walmart... But I outran their geri-security... Even taking the time to load the diapers and kids in the car. The old guy with the smiley face pin was just coming out of the front doors as I was driving away! ROFLMAO! :D

ok, I shouldn't poke fun of Wally world peeps. Sorry... :o

Alright I'm gonna give the full size manix a shot. Afterall, been carrying 610 for a while, even my chinook and 806 feel tiny. crazy.

damn it all, now comes the waiting...

From pics I'd seen, I imagined the blade was going to be too "leaf-like" and ugly. However, I was suprised how good the knife looks. I was buying it for the sheer durability and utility of it, and wound up buying the nicest looking spydie in my collection! Oh, and it's the most sturdy too!

It's not really the length that makes this knife huge, it's the folded width.

It takes up a whole pocket. Thats not an issue for me really, thats what my LF pocket is for:D .

Yeah I thought about the same thing only than the other way around.
I have the manix, very happy about the knife, but I'm also interested in the BM 610 rukus. So knife_nut73 how is your experience with the 610.
How do the sheeple react when you draw it from your pocket :D :D

they probably go " oh my god you`ve got a knife you must be a psycho" thats sheeple for ya

I bought the Manix and really liked it so I bought the Mini which I like even better. My son took one look at my Manix and fell in love with it. He traded me a nice Taurus 22 for it.

They should switch to plastic badges like mall cops, the metal is obviously weighing them down too much :p
