I just got mine not to long ago and it looks like the grind on the side of the blade where it says CPM S30V is longer than the side that says Golden, Colorado. Is it purposely designed like that or did I get a defect? It still cuts fine and everything I was just wondering if its supposed to be like that.

Got mine today (partially serrated). Didn't notice anything with the naked eye regarding the grind. Great knife though. A little wider then I thought it would be when folded. I have to stretch the leather sheath I had planned to use.

Received a plain edge yesterday, the grind lines seem close to spot on, and yes, Spyderco sharp - very sharp.
I am a little concerned with the handle shape - I am of the suspicion that someone from Spyderco has flown to Australia, made a plastercast mould of my hand, probably whilst asleep or inebriated, and produced this knife millimeter perfect for my grip.
She's a big brute but hides well in your pocket, this is the Calypso Jr on gamma rays and steroids, when it opens out and locks,THWACK - women scream and babies start to cry ( slight exageration- THWACK - maybe not).
Thank you Spyderco, this knife is exactly what Ive been after - now how did you get my hand measurements?

I was wondering about that 'thunk' I heard down in Myalup Stockman - I thought it was a semi trailer hitting a pothole up on the highway.......

I have similiar thoughts on the Manix. My response was an idiotic, Homer Simpson style, 'Hmmmm Beefy' when I opened it up. I also suspect there was a late night visit from the Spyderco hand fitting team (but then I suspected the same thing about the Native)

However the grind on my Manix is perfectly square, dead flat, without even the suggestion of an edge. It left the factory without having an edge put on. There appears to be a small gremlin in the QC process at Spyderco at the moment as there is another bloke who reported it on their forums.

Ahh, knifus interruptus, is there anything more painfull? To hold a blade like the Manix, that just screams 'Stop looking at me with that idiotic grin on your face and cut something with me you bozo!!!!' ...and then not being able to fulfill this blades obvious destiny, is worse than pashing Debbie Blyth all the way home on the bus after school and only getting a kiss on the cheek goodnight.

.....I'm in contact with the Spyderco people. I'm sure they'll rectify it. It's a toss up wether I have a go at putting the edge on myself with the Lansky or send it back.

I don't think this is how Spyderco interprets "Flat Ground". Send him back and let your supplier know to check their products before sending duds half way around the world.

Reckon I'll send the therapy bill to Spyderco as well....the horror....the horror....

The edge on mine is like that too.Almost looks like a convex edge.
