Hello all. Just wondering what you thought about this. From a collectors stand point, which Manix II will be worth more $$ later down the road, The blue Manix II in S30v or the newer foliage green Manix II in the CTS-XHP steel. I've read the blue is limited to 500 pieces but is the green Manix a limited run as well? What do guys you think?

Yeah, green is limited to 1000 pieces, I put my vote for the Blue, but I have no idea which will be more sought after.

Although I do not own one, I would be inclined to say the S90V variant for sure. Aside from that one, the blue is a bit more sought after I think, or was.

Definetly the cf s90v manix, but after that I would assume the blue in s30v. But then again spyderco may not make a lot of folders in the carpenters steel which could prove more value in the long run.

Regardless of how many were produced, I think depends more on how well the Carpenter steel is received.
Personally I could'nt understand why every went one nuts for the S30V version, the FFG was the only thing to perk up my interest a little.
At the end of the day the CF S90V version is always going to be the most desired.

Yeah, the S90V version was pretty limited, I'm not sure of actual numbers but definitely a small run. And S90V/Carbon Fiber is gonna carry a premium over the S30V/Blue G10.

Bet you're right.

The poll should be changed, probably. Between the two, based on pure numbers, I voted for blue, but the CF and S90V combination would (should) put that one well ahead of either.

I thought the S90V/CF version was 600 pieces, like the Smurf Manix?

OK, per the SpydieWiki, the C101CF90VP2 S90V/CF had a sprint run of 400. That would definitely put it at the top for those three variants.

Blue: 500 pieces(run is finished)

FG: 1000 pieces(still being made)

However Spyderco has been known to "extend" runs based on sales.
:cough: orange millie :cough:

Do the standard production black models have skeletonized liners? I'm wondering if they will eventually make a full production manix 2 with FFG and a more premium steel. It might be a good cash cow.

If anything, I'd guess this would be more likely to go into full production with different color scales. But there's a lot of ground to cover before that happens, I'd guess.

Does anyone remember how many of the CPM-D2/foliage green Paramilitary knives were made in that sprint run? Spydiewiki seems to have only a question mark on that one.
