I am thinking of getting either a Manix or a Military, or possibly either of the smaller versions of these two knives. Does anybody have some pictures that depict the relative sizes of these knives? I'm trying to determine if the originals are "too much knife" and if the para/mini would serve me well. Thanks in advance.

Thanks that helps a lot! The measurements listed on the Spyderco website make the miniManix sound BARELY smaller, but in the picture you showed there is a significant difference.

Anybody got pictures of the Military and ParaMilitary?

Give me about three hours and as fast as I'm at home, I will post you pics from Military/Paramilitary :)

I gave my best but light was not the best :o

Top/down: Military Carbon, Military G-10, Para-Military G-10

Why is it that people who already own these knives still enjoy seeing pictures of them? Isn't that weird? :D

Sorry, is there any confusion  I thought Snow had a picture request :jerkit: (I know all my knifes and have no personal need to see them on pics :) )

No confusion here. All I said was that even though I own a Paramilitary, I still enjoy seeing different photos of them. See, I'm weird! :D

I'll bet you have a picture of yourself and look at it. Now that's WeirD!

I don't own one but I do enjoy seeing a well used knife. Gives me a good feeling only a knife knut could feel. Peter1960's G-10 for example, I can tell from the clip wear that it sees a fair amount of pocket time. Bet it is one of his favorites.

Thanks for posting the pics! I think the smaller size is good for me, but now I just have to decide between MiniManix and ParaMilitary.

I had a Military and traded it off but now I'm tempted on the CF version. There's probably not an abundance of them left either.

Well what do you wear when you carry knives?

The Military really wasn't too big for me, and I stand a statuesque 5' 8".

But I also always wear denim and a belt, so I feel just as comfortable carrying tmy Military as I do when I carry my Native. The Native is just more sheeple friendly otherwise the Military would be my exclusive EDC.

I usually wear cargo shorts or jeans. I figure I already have the Pacific Salt for a pretty big SE knife and I want a "do anything" Spyderco in PE to accompany it. I'd prefer it to be a bit smaller than the Pacific Salt. That's why I think the para might be better.

Man this is a hard decision. I normally love leaf-shaped blades. My favorite knife is my Calypso Jr. But for some reason the Paramilitary just calls to me more than the Minimanix. The minimanix looks like an awesome, beefed up Calypso. So why do I find myself leaning towards the paramilitary? I'm so confused. :(

The Para is compression locked. The Mini Manix is a "conventional" lockback, and a little heavier. (Get them both, and you'll be absolute happy... :D)

I have the Paramilitary and the Mini-Manix and I prefer the ergos of the Mini-Manix. It just fits my hand better. If you can carry the extra weight, I don't think you would be disappointed with the Manix.

You are absolutely right Sir :D it's a good knife for a good man! From Monday to Friday at worktime I carry a Delica 3 FRN plain and most of the other time the Military or Lil'Temperance (both in plain). I've always troubles to use NIB ones, therefore 54 other Spydies have to wait :o

Snow you have my full understanding, it's a hard to decide. Personally I would prefer the Para-Military over the Mini-Manix, as it's easier to carry as EDC. But both are impressively knifes - try to hold both in your hand and then - buy

I'm on the edge of buying the Para-Military... I have the Yojimbo and i absolutely adore the compression lock. Despite my wanting to collect a variety different sized knives, i for some reason keep coming back to knives with a blade around 3" long...
