My next spyderco purchase will likely be a Manix but I'm somewhat worried that it might be so heavy that I notice it when clipped to my pocket.

I have an Endura and love the fact that I can't even feel it when it's clipped to my pocket.

Can you Manix owners let me know if you can feel it hanging on your pocket?

I think that it would bug me if I could feel it hanging there.

I noticed it the first few times I had it clipped in my pocket, but I don't notice it any more.....now it's just a part of my wardrobe like pants, shoes, shirt, and the Native I carry on my offside.

I have a Manix in my pocket right now and I never notice it unless I need it. I actually prefer knives with a little weight to them. The Manix is heavy, but by no means too heavy. (like, say, a Buck-Strider) The weight is actually an advantage in that it helps pull the edge of a dress-pants pocket just tight enough that the handle sort of disappears. Kind of hard to explain, basically the weight makes it so that it's harder to see.

Buy a Manix, you'll never regret it! If you like your Endura, you'll go nuts for the Manix. It's like an Endura on massive quantities of steroids. That "Whack!" when the lock engages never gets old. It sounds like a gun cocking.

It is pretty pocket friendly. If you are a tight pants wearing wierdo stuck in the 80's you might have trouble. :D

I'm a small person and i noticed the weight at first, but it soon grew to feeling normal. I speak of jeans here, not slacks.

This seems to be a question with a widely varied answer. I don't notice knives in my pocket at all, regardless of weight. But I'm a big, heavy guy that wears nothing but big, loose-fitting jeans all the time.

The manix is about 176 grams I believe. It's not light but you will get a
knife that's all business and delivers pure cutting power.
You can't go wrong with the manix:thumbup:

I also agree the Manix is a great knife, so is the Mini Manix. I've had both and they are both heavy, but not too heavy. it will be much heavier then your FRN knife though.

I don't think the Manix feels heavy at all especially when carried clipped. I think you'll be more likely to notice the thickness and length of the it before the weight. In my experience as long as you don't carry anything else in your pocket with it you'll forget its there.

I have one on me right now, don't know it's there until you need it. It is a very well thought out knife.

the a tank in the pocket but what better to have than m1a1 with you all the time.

I've always carried one of the full sized Spyders. Once you carry them for a while it just becomes second nature to you after a while. At the present time I am carrying a full sized Spyderco Dyad model which I think weighs close to the same as the Manix would.

I wear Carharrt Jeans most of the time. On the right leg there is a tool pocket that I clip the knife on to. It works great and I can honestly say that I have never lost a knife doing that. I usually also carry a couple of smaller knives along with it. In my right front pocket I carry a Burgundy ZDP-189 Calypso Jr. In my other pocket I carry a Spyderco G-10 handled Harpy ( thanks to my great brother Dr. Hannibal Lecter  )

I carried the Manix Jr. for about a week and to tell you the truth I didn't notice any significant difference between that and the Dyad. Like the sneaker commercial says "JUST DO IT"
