right now my edc is a BM 610. A fine blade, and big the way I like folders. I've been thinking about getting a 2nd folder as I like to carry a few knives and one thats easier to replace. I do what the 2nd folder to have some beef to it so I've been thinking about the Manix or the endura 4. I'm fans of both. I searched a lot on this forum for both knives but still can't decide. Is the Manix lock tougher? Which is the better cutter, and can take more abuse?

The Manix has a tougher lock, takes more abuse and has more efficient edge geometry for most applications I used either for.

The E4 is no slouch, it's most likely as tough as you will ever need a knife to be and they do cut well. For 40$ they're great, solid knives that you can abuse and easily replace.

Mainly what it comes down to me is the Manix's big handle was a lot more comfortable in the hand and I like the full flat grind. Otherwise they're both pretty capable folders.

Tha Manix is tougher, but the Endura is easier to replace. I am a fulltime LEO and carry an Endura 4 as a duty knife. I trust the Endura and It won't hurt as bad if I lose it. The Manix is an awesome knife though. If I didn't worry about losing such a nice knife at work I would love to carry one.

I'd say that the Manix lock is tougher (the blade will break before you overcome either lock though), the Manix is a better cutter because it is thinner near the edge, and both knives are much tougher than many folders, but the Manix may have to win in this catagory as well. I have both, and both have their advantages. The Enduara is TOUGH, cheap, easy to pocket, and light. The Manix is TOUGH, a great slicer, TOUGH, and very comfortable to cut with all day long. If you're looking for replaceable, get the Endura. (note: the Endura 4 is the only Endura with stainless steel liners)

I've never handled the Manix, and I just literally recieved my Endura 4 w/wave 30 min. ago--nice set-up for bias ;) My first impressions? This knife is very pleasing to hold, fits my hand nicely. The Endura also isn't too big, which is a bit of a mixed bag; I like how unobtrusive it seems, yet I imaged it would be a little larger. Haven't tried out the wave yet, but I'll have penty of opportunity tommorow at work :D Anyway I'm not telling you to choose the Endura over the Manix or vice-versa--just putting in my $.02.
