Just ordered a plain edge full size Manix. I don't have any good knife shops near me so I could not see it up close. I hear it is quite large.

Is it too big for EDC for most of you? I actually use my blades and have worn out several Enduras over the years. I wanted to try a full flat grind with a leaf shaped blade. I wear jeans every day and hope I can carry it comfortably.

Opinions would be greatly appreciated.

You will be astounded by how well it cuts. It is quite large, though. You will probably be able to feel it more than you would the light, thin Endura, but if you wear it in jeans, it should be no problem.

Rides well in the back pocket next to the wallet, assuming your pockets are big enough to still pull the wallet out.

It's a brute compared to the Enduras / Delicas. I think you'll really enjoy using the handle. Quite possibly the most comfortable handled folder I've used.

I thought it was too big at first but now carry it freqently. It works really well in-waist-band if your shirt is untucked.

Shorts+tshirt+IWB=Perfect!

I am a small skinny person, but I have no problem carring the Manix. It is heavier than most knives, however. I found that after you carry it around for a while, you don't notice it.

It's my EDC. It locks up like a bank vault door, has a wicked sharp blade, and a very comfy handle. I used to carry an Emerson or a Benchmade everyday. The big Manix made me switch.

Plus I can carry it tip up in my left front pocket. That's my preferred carry location.

Yes, it is larger and heavier than a Para or an Endura. But unless you wear swim trunks to work, it's not a problem.

I really liked mine, and it was a great user. However, it was too big for pocket carry for me, and I sold mine to fund other knife buys. I'm kicking myself now for it. I've got big paws, and it really filled out my needs for a heavy duty big folder. Like I said, it was too big for pocket carry, clipped to pants etc, but it was fine in a coat pocket or belt sheath (snug in a sheath though). Also, Spyderco stands behind their warranty, and I had to send mine in to be repaired, they took very good care of me.

I LOVE THIS THING!! What a great design. Now I see what the raves were about. It fits my hand better than any blade I've got. It is a tank, but it fits in my baggy jeans pockets easily. My only complaint is that it did not come nearly as sharp as I've come to expect from Spyderco. Not a big deal - 5 minutes on the sharpmaker took care of that.

I'm sure I will scare people when I whip it out, but who cares. It cuts like there is no tomorrow. At work I sliced through boxes like never before and sliced packing straps with ease. To be honest I probably won't bring it to work any more. It will be for after hours duty only. The waved Endura works better for my job IMO. The long thin blade gets between straps really easily.

I'm very happy with my purchase. Excellent fit and finish and my new best cutter. I was considering getting the mini, but I'm glad I got the larger one. There is not a big enough weight difference to make the compromised blade length worth it for me. I will probably get the mini later however.

I can now highly recommend this knife. Lots of bang for the buck. If you don't have one yet, GET ONE!!

This is what I do, I carry it in my back pocket next to my wallet. It works.

I ordered both the Manix and the Mini, and took several days of carrying each to decide which to keep and which to resell. I finally decided on keeping the big one, and really like the way it feels in my hand. It is an awesome cutter, and has the best handle of any folder I have used. I don't notice it in my back pocket anymore, but I am careful about where I whip it out. Don't want to scare folks, but if I did, it would do the job.
