I want to change the clip, and I have a huge assortment of tools... However, the lowest Torx screwdriver I have is T10. Its too big. Will a T9 work, or do I have to go smaller? A trip to Sears is in order, but I don't want to get the wrong driver. Can't buy anymore tools than absolutely necessary. Wife would kill me. :o

Also, has anyone had luck sanding down the G-10 scales? They're super grippy... way too grippy IMHO. I've got G-10 on other Spydercos (maybe its older versions of G-10), and they're fine. The Manix's G-10 is so grippy, it's not funtional for EDC IMHO, until I work out the grippiness by sanding, etc.. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Trihonda,

The clip on my Manix is held in place by Phillips head screws - not Torx. Maybe mine is different than yours?

Take the knife with you when you go to Sears.

Though, I got some looks whippin out my Manix in the Sears store. Though, most of the looks were likely evious... ;)

Anyway, I just bought a set... So I'll be ready for the next Spydie I buy.

I used a T8, though it was a teeny bit loose fitting in the screw head, but solid enough to loosen and tighten the screws. Then I tried a T9, and it was a much more snug fit, almost too snug as if it wasn't completely inserted into the screw head. However, the T9 worked as well... Not sure if I've answered my question.

It would be nice to hear from some official Spydie peeps about the recommended or actual T size...
