Manix xl cage?

It's made out of FRN or FRCP If I remember correctly. They are polymers but definitely not your run of the mill "plastic" Very strong.
 
Not steel, it is a polymer of some kind. To give you an idea, think about Glocks and the polymeqr used on them.
 
It's a polymer base.
I've had mine split on one side and rendered the lock useless.
Great warranty, I sent it in and they replaced it free.
I wish it was an exposed ball like the Phoenix or Polliwog

Was that a clear cage or black cage?
 
Sorry...I missed the part about the black.

Mine was clear...as there has been many threads about it's issues.

The new black apparently should be a newer and stronger polymer.

People also didn't like the clear getting darker overtime with dirty fingers.
 
I found three threads with a reference to the broken cage and one of those was the owners fault by improper reassembly. I wouldn't exactly call that many threads.
