Anyone know, heard rumors, seen news, etc. about why the Spyderco C101GP2 Manix2 Folding Knife 3-3/8" Satin S30V Plain Blade, G10 Handles has been delayed by Spyderco? Maybe due to the factory expansion, overwhelming demand, parts shortage, etc.? I have one on order and just wondering when they might become available.

The Amazonian is offering them for $120 at the moment ...
Yep but they aren't the latest version as they're Saber grind with a clear lock cage vs. full flat grind with a black lock cage. I prefer FFG but the lock cage color doesn't really concern me - unless there's been improvements to it besides the color change?

The black bladed versions and the saber grind versions are available at a few places but I am after the satin finish FFG. Some places say they are out of stock and one place says delayed by the manufacturer.

Bear in mind that lots of retailers haven't updated their stock pictures from the old hollow ground ones (Some even show the 154CM model), but their actual stock could be the FFG S30V. Your best bet is phoning them and asking them to check for you.

A friend of mine ordered a all black Manix 2 from Amazon, and it turned out to be the 2014 FFG version. The listing also said the knife was $135 or so, but he was only charged $108. So it looks like they still have to update the information.

Never go by the stock photo on the big river. Half of them are long out of date.

It's not only amazon. As long as the modell number is the same why would any shop notice what has changed inside the spydie-box. We can't blame them.

The one that was ordered from Amazon in the spring arrived FFG/S30V with a clear cage...

Some dealers do not update the photos, description, or name of a product on their site other than copying and pasting the manufacturer description. The other reason items might not be in stock are the manufacturers production schedules. There are very few manufacturers that I've heard of (if any) that can run various models concurrently. Usually they make a set number of pieces of one or more models then retool for another couple pieces.
