On a spur of a moment, i ended up ordering a D2 paramilitary and blue manix2. Might i add 2 of each (i like to have 2 of every knife i buy, one to use the other to add to my collection.) I was wondering which one of these 2 would be suitable for heavy use. I have no previous experience with either of em. Which one is tougher and more durable.

All your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

That's a good question. I would hesitate to say either is better then the other, but the Manix would be cheaper to replace if you broke it.

I have a regular Manix 2 and a Para. I personally like the way the Manix feels in my hand and its added weight. Though the Paramilitary isn't as heavy, thus making it easier to carry. If I had to keep only one, I'd probably keep the Manix.

That said, you really can't go wrong either way.

FOr super hard use, I would say that the Para is my default favorite knife. I have used one pretty hard and it's still in great shape.
Where did you find the blue manix? I have been looking everywhere.

I tried to order 2, but I received a email that my order for the 2nd was cancelled because there was no more stock available. I'll keep looking for a second, if I hit something, you will be the first I email!

That would be awesome. Thanks!

A lot this will depend on how you really use your knives, but from my experience...
The Manix 2 does seem to have a more robust construction and heft value, and also offers a very secure grip during hard use.
The Para's CPM D2 blade will hold it's edge noticeably better than the S30V in a hard use environment, although don't test the strength of the blades tip to many times.
The difference in locks is really a matter of personal preference, the are both strong and reliable and easy to manipulate one handed.
I have my share of very physically active days at work, so it's always tip down carry for me.
While the Manix 2 does appear better on paper, the CF S90V version was only able to nudge my D2 Para out my pocket for a couple of days. At the end of the day I find the Para's all round agility makes for a far more versatile work folder. The one stand out feature I do love on the Manix 2 though is the added jimping.

.... oh, something else to take into consideration IMO the Manix 2 "Should" require less maintenance in the long run, my D2 Para which has been EDC'd like a beater for the past 18 months does need some attention now & then....

Bo.
