Got my Mankel up and running for those not familiar, a Mankel is a commercially built blown burner forge, and one of the best forges out there. Switched out the DC dayton for the blacksmithdepot one that rocks, and the forge runs like a top. HOT at only 3 psi, and it's very adjustable for the chamber size by stacking bricks and even almost tripling the chamber size the burner has no problem heating it easily to working temperatures. One burner runs a little hot, but i'll leave it that way so I can preheat on the less hot side then move left onto the hot side as I am forging. Did I mention I paid 50$ and it came with an anvil?

Hey Jake, no it's a farrier's type anvil from Multi products, really funky looking i'll snap a picture. Mankel changed hands and are still in business.

hi Sam... NICE! The one I have is a 3 or 4 burner, cant remember right now. The motor runs, but I havent had time to get it tuned/running, been working on my 50 Little Giant all week.

Mine has a swing door on the front "inline" with the burners, and man these things are heavy!

Hell of a deal, Sam. Bet you could make some nice hammers in that! I like the idea of stacking bricks inside to make it bigger/smaller.

Thanks guys! It's nice to have the NC knifemaker for long stuff, but for short or wide stuff or production style forging this one will be great.

Matt cool! Do you have any photos of yours?

Chuck, it should be perfect for that!
