I have a knife my grandmother gave me a few years back the day before she passed. It was her second husband's knife, who was like the only grandfather I had. He died about 20 years ago, so the knife has to be at least that old.

I am trying to learn about it. I found a maker named David Manley and I'm wondering if anyone can confirm that he was, wasn't the smith or if ya'll know who was. It has Manley Blade stamped into the blade and 77 061 on the opposite side.

I love knives and have made a few I like over the years. Knowing what I put into them makes me interested in the man who made this one. Possibly knowing materials and othere details too.

I looked it up in my Levine's guide and it says Cliff and Louis Manley ,Genville WV. worked c1977- Manley Blade. and that's all the info it gives.

When I used to go to the Blade show there was a knifemaker named David Manley. He lived in South Carolina. The blade you have doesn't look like the ones he was making when I knew him. All of his had stag handles.

I am appreciating the help. Also my step granddad lived in SC, but that doesn't rule out WV since he worked construction.

The maker was Cliff Manley. He said he made it in West Virginia. He was my husband and recently passed away.
